The Vicariate of Santa Clara de Montefalco held the first SOCCO-LAM at the Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish in Pasay last July 23, 2023.
SOCCO-LAM, a seminar-workshop on social communications organized by Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish provided an invaluable platform for participants to improve their communication skills and develop their roles as active communicators of faith within their parishes.
By using the power of modern media and digital platforms, attendees received the tools needed to spread the message of love, compassion, and togetherness to a larger audience.
The seminar-workshop was graced by Rev. Msgr. Claro Matt Garcia, parish priest of Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish. He told the participants that the SOCOM ministry is one of the most relevant ministries in the church. He hopes that the ministry will further deepen the passion of the ministers as they serve.
Among the speakers who shared their expertise were Ms. Jheng Prado, Supervisor of RCAM Office of Communications and Lay Coordinator of RCAM SOCOM (Introduction to SOCOM); Ms. Maricar Santos, AOC Volunteer Photographer (Basic Liturgical Photography); Mr. Mio Angelo Hermoso, AOC Staff (Basics in Photoshop); and Rev. Fr. Viel Bautista, Vice Rector of the Manila Cathedral (Liturgical Works in Modern Technology).
Thirty SOCOM ministers from the eleven parishes of the vicariate attended the event.
Santa Clara de Montefalco Vicariate is composed of the following parishes: Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish, San Juan Nepomuceno Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, San Isidro Labrador Parish, San Rafael Parish, Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady of the Airways, Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted parish, Our Lady of Fatima Parish, San Roque Parish and Shrine of Jesus the Way, the Truth and Light.
SOCCO-LAM serves as a catalyst for good change in the way parishes approach social communication by encouraging collaboration and the exchange of ideas. As participants return to their individual communities, armed with newfound knowledge and motivation, the impact of SOCCO-LAM will be felt across the vicariate and beyond.
