Sts. Peter and Paul Parish: A Double Jubilee

The Parish of Sts. Peter and Paul in Makati has been celebrating momentous and historic milestones in recent years. This began with the 300th year commemoration of the Arrival of the image of their Patroness, the Virgen de la Rosa de Macati in 2018, the Canonical Coronation of the said image in 2019, and the celebration of the 400th year of the establishment of the San Pedro Macati church and Parish in 2020.

As the oldest church in Makati, priding itself as the Church that gave birth to a city,  and with its different Programs of Mercy, the church was chosen to be one of the Pilgrim or Mission Churches in the Archdiocese of Manila in celebration of this year’s grand jubilee for the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. His Excellency, Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, D.D., led the formal opening of its Jubilee Door last 17 April. Having just opened its Jubilee Door last November 2020 for its 400th year, the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish is the only church to be celebrating a double jubilee in one year.

That they will be encouraging people to come here.”

With that, Rev. Msgr. Pedro Gerardo O. Santos, Parish Priest of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Makati, also extended his invitation to all the Christian faithful to visit their parish and be doubly blessed by doing so.

The opening of the 500 Years of Christianity Jubilee Door was witnessed by members of their Parish Pastoral Council, Parish Financial Council, Hermandad 2021, Parish Priests of those under the Vicariate of Sts. Peter and Paul, as well as Makati District I Councilor Rep. Romulo “Kid” Peña, Jr. (Cris Tungol/SOCOM – Sts. Peter and Paul Parish)
