St. John the Baptist Parish opens Jubilee Door

St. John the Baptist Parish in Pinaglabanan, San Juan City officially opened its Jubilee Door last April 18, 2021 during, the 12:00 noon mass. The celebration was led by Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Apostolic Administrator of Manila, along with the priests of the parish and the vicariate.

It is the 7th Jubilee Church in the Archdiocese of Manila to open its door to the Christian faithful seeking Plenary Indulgence granted by the Apostolic Penitentiary this 500th Anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines. Five other Jubilee Churches are scheduled to open their respective Jubilee Doors in the coming weeks to complete the 12 pilgrim churches.

Being the only jubilee church in San Juan City, the parishioners of St. John the Baptist Parish feel truly blessed for this opportunity of not traveling far to do a pilgrimage and to seek plenary indulgence, especially now that people are shying away from traveling due to health and safety reasons.

He further challenged every baptized person to bear witness and to work for the victory of truth over lies, victory of goodness over evil, and victory of righteousness over oppression.

Before the celebration ended, Msgr. Vicente Bauson, Parish Priest thanked everyone who were present, the servers, priests, the main celebrant, and even those who participated in their homes through FB live stream. He also encouraged the community to take up the mission by spreading the Good News and becoming active witnesses of the Lord’s resurrection.
