Return to church, feel God’s real presence through the Holy Communion – Bishop Pabillo

As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease in most parts of the Philippines, Taytay Vicar Apostolic Broderick Pabillo has urged the Catholic faithful to experience the real presence of Jesus through attending the Holy Mass inside the church.

Bishop Pabillo, who also heads the Office of Stewardship of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, made this appeal in celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on June 19.

He emphasized that the pandemic made the faithful forget the essence of Eucharistic celebrations, most especially the Holy Communion, due to physical absence brought by the public’s fear of the spread of the coronavirus.

But we have not received the Real Presence of Jesus.

The leader of the Northern Palawan vicariate also reminded everyone to visit the Blessed Sacrament inside each church’s adoration chapel and take time to venerate the Lord in its tranquility.

“Sambahin natin Siya. Manahimik tayo sa harap Niya. Talagang nandiyan Siya sa Blessed Sacrament at gusto Niyang makiisa sa atin,” he said.

Bishop Pabillo stressed that the occasion of Corpus Christi Sunday serves as a reminder that everybody is encouraged to care for one another and share to help the last, the least and the lost in society.
