On its virtual awarding last April 13, 2021, the Catholic Social Media Awards (CSMA) 2020 awarded the Best Parish Facebook Page to Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church.
Quiapo Church, one of the pilgrim churches declared during the Jubilee Year, currently has more than three million followers on Facebook.
Fr. Danichi Hui, Parochial Vicar of Quiapo Church and is in charge of the Social Communications Ministry of the parish is thankful for the recognition.
“We would like to thank the CSMA for the recognition that they once again gave us. It is our third from them. Their recognition makes us work harder in improving our ministry in proclaiming God’s Word thru social media,” Fr. Hui told the Archdiocese of Manila Office of Communications.
“But the greatest reward is to be able to deliver God and His Good News to all the people,” he added.
During the time of the pandemic, Quiapo Church has been one of the most influential platforms in propagating the Catholic faith through their online Masses and social media posts about the Nazareno whom many devotees called in times of hardships and trials.
The winners were judged according to the following criteria: content impact(30%), innovative practice and uniqueness (20%), content relevance (20%), responsiveness (10%), following, supporters and engagement rate (10%) and copyright protection (10%).
