Priest supports investigation to workers’ human rights

This was the call of Fr. Eric Adoviso, Minister of the Archdiocese Ministry for Labor Concerns (AMLC) after the International Labor Organization urge the Philippine government to investigate the violation of human rights of workers in the country.

International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) reported tyranny, red-tagging, and the death of 10 Trade Union Leaders.

Eric Adoviso during an interview with Radio Veritas.

Fr. Adovido also mentioned the importance of communication between the employees and their employer.

He also recognized International Labor Organization with their appeal on urging the Department of Labor (DOLE) to cooperate with the investigation. The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) should also monitor the investigation to gain justice for the victims of tyranny and murder.

According to Department of Labor and Employment Secretary, Silvestre Bello III, they will cooperate with the investigation through Regional Tripartite Monitoring Bodies (RTMB). The court is also currently investigating the case of the death of the Trade Union Leaders and members. (Fatima Llanza/RCAM-AOC)
