The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) expresses its support for the upcoming voter’s registration helmed by the Commission on Election (COMELEC) the following week.
According to Veritas News, Dr. Arwin Serrano, who currently spearheads PPCRV as its National Coordinator, assured the Commission on Elections that PPCRV will exert its utmost effort to strengthen the campaign for the voter’s registration that has started this December 9 which will end on the 23rd of January, 2023.
“Ang PPCRV ay nakikiisa sa pagbubukas muli ng voter’s registration campaign natin na magsisimula na specifically starting on December 9, 2022 hanggang January 31, 2023,” he said.
Dr. Serrano appreciates how the COMELEC decided to make registration more accessible by having strategic locations such as malls to encourage citizens to vote. On the other hand, PPCRV will be initiating programs related to voter’s education.
The Registration Anywhere Project is an initiative of the Commission on Elections wherein citizens can register as a voter at selected five malls within the National Capital Region, specifically: SM Fairview in Quezon City, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM South Mall in Las Piñas City, Robinsons Place Manila, and Robinsons Galleria in Quezon City.
The voter’s registration for this project is open during the weekends starting December 10 until the 29th of January with an exception of December 24, 25, 31, and January 1.
COMELEC expects that the estimate for voter’s registration would increase its numbers by 5 million. (Hazel Boquiren/SOCOM-San Juan Nepomuceno Parish)
