PPCRV confident with active youth, volunteer participation in BSKE

The Catholic Church’s poll watchdog expressed its hopes for the much active involvement of the youth leading to the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on October 30.

Evelyn Singson, chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), stressed the importance of the country’syoung electorate in choosing sensible and compassionate leaders for the community.

“[A]ng boto nila ang magde-determine kung anong klaseng pamamahala yung binoto na ibibigay sa kanila, kaya bumuto sila nang tama para yung serbisyo ng barangay captain sa kanila ay talagang magre-redown to their benefit,” Singson told in an interview with Radio Veritas.

She also conveyed her optimismtowards the PPCRV volunteers from different parishes as they fulfill their duty to ensure the safety and credibility of the barangay elections.

“Nagpapasalamat ako, talagang very dedicated, very altruistic lahat tayo [sa PPCRV ay] nagsisilbi.Wala naman tayong mapapala pero alam natin ang mapapala natin hindi financial pero makakabuti sa kabuhayan natin,” the poll watchdog head said.

The election period shall commence on the filing of certificates of candidacy starting August 28 until September 2, while the campaign season will be from October 19 to 28.
