As the Catholic Church reflected on the celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula stressed that God never diminishes His love despite mankind’s shortcomings.
In his homily on June 24 at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Makati City, Cardinal Advincula pondered on the gospel of Luke about Jesus’ search for one lost sheep and leaving ninety-nine others.
“Hindi nababawasan kundi mas umiigting ang pag-ibig ng Diyos sa atin sa mga pagkakataong tayo ay nawawala, nalalayo at napipilayan,” he said.
As he urged to give thanks for God’s greatest love to everyone, the Archbishop of Manila also posed a challenge to all the faithful to emulate Jesus’ Sacred Heart in spreading goodness to all people.
“Magpasalamat tayo sa dakilang pag-ibig ni Hesus para sa atin at humihimok sa atin na tularan ang Kanyang mga gawi; ang buod ng biyayang hiling natin sa Kanya ay naihulma niya ang ating puso sa wangis ng Kanyang puso,” Cardinal Advincula pointed out.
