COVID Vaccination not just to protect self but Society–Bishop

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) official encourages the faithful who have not yet been vaccinated to participate in the government’s vaccination program.

In a video message posted by Most Rev. Marcelino Maralit, Chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Social Communications on his Facebook page, he asked the faithful to take part in the Bayanihan Bakunahan – National Vaccination Days program of the government.

Bishop Maralit, who is also the Bishop of Boac, was recently diagnosed positive with COVID-19 virus. According to the Bishop, he is experiencing mild symptoms of the virus and is recovering in a hospital in Lucena, Quezon.

The CBCP official also stressed that he would have suffered more serious effects of COVID-19 had he not been vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the Bishop expressed his gratitude to all the medical frontliners who continue to assist in his immediate recovery.

According to the Department of Health, as of Nov. 30, 2021, there were already 2.5 million Filipinos who were vaccinated for COVID-19. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC | File Photo of RCAM-AOC)
