On July 23, Friday, grandparents “who are passing on the faith to their grandchildren in challenging times” will give their testimonies.
The conference is in partnership with CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Youth and Liturgy and the Catholic Grandparents Association of the Philippines.
Earlier, the Holy Father Pope Francis has declared the first World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly on July 25, the Sunday before the Feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.
“The voice of the elderly is precious because it sings the praises of God and preserves the roots of the peoples. The elderly reminds us that old age is a gift and that grandparents are the link between the different generations, to pass on to the young the experience of life,” Pope Francis said.
