CBCP recognizes educators in celebration of National Teachers’ Month  

In celebration of National Teachers’ Month, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education (CBCP-ECCCE) honors the teachers and their roles in shaping the hearts and minds of the young.

According to San Fernando La Union Bishop Daniel Presto, vice chairman of the commission, these educators should be given recognition because apart from imparting knowledge to students, they help in the molding and nurturing of talents, skills, and potentials of the youth who are the future of the nation.

“Kilalanin ang natatanging ambag ng mga guro sa paghuhubog sa mga bata at kabataan sa pagkakaroon ng puso at isip n amay pagmamahal s Diyos, bayan, kapwa, at kalikasan, nawa sa pagdiriwang na ito ay hndi lang mabigyang pasasalamat ang ating mga guro kundi makahikayat dn ng maraming mga kabataang maging guro,” Bishop Presto told Radio Veritas.

Bishop Presto asked the students to express their appreciation in various ways to their teachers who dedicated their time and lives to form them into good citizens of the world. 

He also encouraged them to offer prayers to these educators who are already retired and are experiencing sickness because of old age

This year, the Department of Education has designated the theme “Together4Teachers” in commemoration of National Teachers Month and also the celebration of World Teachers’ Day on October 05. 

The National Teachers’ Month is celebrated to acknowledge the important roles of teachers in shaping the future of the society. The celebration also invites the people to be in solidarity with the teachers in creating a brighter future for education in the country. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC)
