The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Prison Pastoral Care (CBCP-ECPPC) will provide a series of online Volunteer Capability Building Seminars on the Prison Ministry this June and July.
The online seminars aim to raise the feelings and awareness of the volunteers on the condition of the prisoners in the country.
The first three series of the online seminars will be held on June 11, 18 and 25, 2022, with prison service volunteers from Luzon and the National Capital Region.
The following series will be held on July 9, 16 and 23, 2022, with volunteers from Visayas, Mindanao and partner organizations, from 8:30 am to 12 noon.
“This seminar is for new and existing VIPS (Volunteers in Prison Services) only,” according to the commission’s invitation.
The Chairman of CBCP Ministry on Prison, Bishop Joel Baylon of the Legaspi will share, reflect and inspire the inmates towards hope, conversion and renewed life.
Among the speakers at the seminar will be Fr. Nezelle Lirio – executive secretary of the commission; Consultant Bro. Rodolfo Diamante, who also previously served as executive secretary of the commission; Bro. Gerard Ian; Atty. Rommel Alim Abitria-executive director of the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc-HLAF; and Bro. Michael Bartolome-pastoral program officer of the CBCP-ECPPC. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC)
