CBCP Commission on Healthcare holds Webinar on Vaccines

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Commission on Health Care will hold two-part webinars on what the public should know about the COVID-19 vaccination.

With the theme, “Ating Alamin: Bakuna sa COVID-19”, the webinars will be held on March 1 and 4, 202, from 10 am to 12 noon.

The objective of the webinar is to encourage the public to heed the call of the government and the church to get vaccinated against the coronavirus that severely infected and claimed a thousand lives around the world.

Guest speakers include Most Rev. Broderick S. Pabillo, Manila Apostolic Administrator and Chairman ng CBCP-Episcopal Commission on the Laity Manila; Most Rev. Rex Ramirez, Bishop of Naval and Chairman ng CBCP-Healthcare Ministry; Most Rev. Pablo Virgilio David, Bishop of Kalookan and CBCP Vice President Kalookan; and Archbishop Romulo Valles of Davao and CBCP President.

Dr. Nina Castillo-Carandang, member of World Health Organization Social Science Working Group on COVID-19; Dr. Nina Gloriani, chairman of the Department of Science and Technology Vaccine Expert Panel for COVID-19; Dr. Maria Cristina Alberto, Community Pediatrician and Founder of Hope In Me Club; and Dr. Jemelyn Garcia from the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases will also share during the webinar.

According to the Department of Health website, as of Feb. 26, 2021, there are 571,000 cases of COVID-19 in the country. There are 525,000 who recovered from the illness while 12,247 Filipinos died. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC)
