Caritas Manila, the social service arm of the Archdiocese of Manila will conduct it annual fundraising telethon on Monday, August 15, 2022, for the development of projects for the Youth Servant Leadership Education Program (YSLEP), Caritas’s programs for youth scholars.
Fr. Anton CT Pascual, executive director of Caritas Manila and President of Radio Veritas 846 encourages the faithful to support the telethon that is expected to raise 20 million pesos. The said amount, according to the priest will be spent for the education of five thousand YSLEP college scholars and technical-vocational program at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
“Let’s support this telethon, 30-thousand pesos to educate a YSLEP a year, may we contribute, so that we can support the five-thousand YSLEP scholars of Caritas Manila throughout the Philippines,” Fr. Pascual told Radio Veritas.
Aside from giving financial support for YSLEP beneficiaries, the funds that will be raised from the telethon will be allocated to programs of Youth Servant Leadership aimed at cultivating the integrity and sense of responsibility of the young people.
The telethon will be held at the station of Radio Veritas 846. It will start at 7 in the morning and will end at 6 in the evening with the theme ‘Youth Servant Leadership towards Nation Building’. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC)
