Caritas Manila to distribute new batch of Gift Certificates Aid

Caritas Manila, the social service arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, has allocated another batch of gift certificates amounting to Php 20 million within those areas under the NCR Plus that still remain under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

According to Veritas News, Caritas Manila, which has been continuously giving aid to the ‘poorest among the poor families in different parishes, the gift certificates being distributed is worth Php 1,000 with which families can use to buy necessities in designated grocery stores.

To date, 10,000 families or Php 10 Million worth of gift certificates were already distributed in the last two weeks.

Last year at the beginning of the lockdown in NCR, Caritas Manila distributed Php 1.3 Billion worth of gift certificates to families most affected by quarantine. The organization was also able to procure and give as aid vegetables amounting to Php 5 million in partnership with Ficco Foundation.

Caritas Manila is also partnering with Radyo Veritas 846 for the distribution of gift certificates, through the program “Caritas in Action”, which hopes to reach those who are unemployed and unable to support their families. (Fatima Llanza/RCAM-AOC)
