Caritas Manila in temporary Lockdown

Caritas Manila in Pandacan, Manila was placed under lockdown from March 20 to March 28, 2021.

This was after Caritas Manila Executive Director Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual and some officials and staff of Caritas Manila tested positive with COVID-19.  According to Veritas News, Fr. Pascual is currently admitted at Cardinal Santos Medical Center.

During the pandemic, Fr. Pascual was active in leading Caritas initiatives to assist those who are affected by the lockdowns. Among Caritas Manila’s activities were the distribution of COVID-19 kits, 1.5 billion pesos “Gift Certificates” and Caritas Manna Packs to 6 million individuals. Caritas Manila also continues to support to their scholars from different dioceses all over the Philippines.

Fr. Pascual is also the President of Radio Veritas, which is also active in terms of communication needs and coordination among Churches, Dioceses, and LGUs

Caritas Manila facility was placed in lockdown to give way for the disinfection and sanitation activities of the area. Despite the lockdown, Caritas Manila assured continuous assistance to the needy especially those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. (Fatima Llanza/RCAM-AOC)
