Caritas Manila holds “Isang Pasasalamat: Agape 2023” for donors

Caritas Manila, the social service arm of the Archdiocese of Manila held a thanksgiving agape to its partners who continuously help and support their programs for the poor.

More than 100 individual donors and representatives from different agencies and companies who extend assistance to Caritas Manila in helping the poor people attended the “Isang Pasasalamat: Agape 2023” at the Arzobispado de Manila in Intramuros last Feb. 13. The event was graced by Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula.

Fr. Anton CT Pascual, Executive Director of Caritas Manila and President of Radio Veritas thanked all the donors who came for their untiring support to the programs of Caritas Manila in attending to the needs of the poor and marginalized people in society.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa Caritas Manila at programs for the poor ng ating church NGO na nangunguna sa social services and development program ministry programs at ang ating misyon programs sa education, health, livelihood, restorative justice and volunteer management na nagpapalakas ng hanay ng ating social development program in behalf of the poor and the marginalized,” Fr. Pascual told Radio Veritas.

Genevie Balava, a Caritas Manila donor for eight years hopes that through their donations, they can help improve the lives of the poor.

“Sa mga nakakatanggap po ng aming mga munting mga handog sa mga mahihirap na benefeciaries na aming mga tulong sana po ito ay nakaka-alleviate po ng inyong buhay at sana po ay maging tulay po ito ng pagbabago para sa mas magandang kinabukasan ng buhay,” Balava said.

According to Caritas Manila, in 2022, the allocated funds between March 2020 and December 2021, have reached 2 billion pesos. The fund was used to meet the needs of the people who were severely affected by the pandemic and natural disasters and those who lost their jobs.
