Caritas Manila holds Alay Kapwa Telethon

Caritas Manila, the social service arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, held the annual fundraising drive called Alay Kapwa Telethon last March 29, 2021, from 7 am to 6 pm.

The said telethon, which was in cooperation with Radyo Veritas 846, was able to raise more than 4 million pesos of donations from its kapanalig members and other generous benefactors.

According to Caritas Manila, “This year, funds raised will be used to address the hunger and malnutrition of the poor as a result of the pandemic and other calamities”.

In 2020, Caritas Manila was able to help more than 10 million individuals who were victims of various disasters such as typhoons and fires and those who suffer because of the surge of coronavirus pandemic.

The Alay Kapwa Telethon was first launched in 1974. The telethon aims to raise funds to provide emergency relief assistance and humanitarian aid to victims of disasters.
