Cardinal calls on the faithful to be instruments of God’s healing love

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula called for hope and healing in his homily for the fiesta Mass of San Lazaro Hospital in Manila last March 17, 2024.

Cardinal Advincula reflected on the story of Lazarus, who was raised by Jesus from the dead. He said that Lazarus’ story is a reminder of God’s power to heal and to give hope.

“Even in the midst of our suffering, we can always hope in God’s healing power,” Cardinal Advincula said. “He is the one who can raise us from the dead, both physically and spiritually.”

Cardinal Advincula also encouraged the congregation to be instruments of God’s healing love. He said that we can do this by showing compassion and care for those who are sick and suffering.

“Let us be like Jesus and reach out to those who are in need,” Cardinal Advincula said. “Let us show them the love and mercy of God.”

The fiesta Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Msgr. Raul B. Belludo, the hospital chaplain, and other priests. The Mass was attended by hospital staff, patients, and members of the community.
