Cardinal Advicula Honors PPCRV work in 2022 Election

Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula led the last day of Novena Mass for the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) at the command center set up at the Quadricentennial Pavilion of the University of Santo Tomas on May 9, 2022, election day.

In his homily, the Cardinal expressed his gratitude to all the staff and the volunteers of PPCRV around the country who willingly responded to the call in safeguarding the sacredness of the votes and ensuring a clean and honest election.

“I gladly take this opportunity to thank all of you for this important task of serving the nation, of bringing the light of the Gospel and Christian presence into the political realm.  Allow the sweet odor of Christ to permeate all that you do as PPCRV volunteers,” said Cardinal Advincula.

“Makikilala raw tayo sa panahon ng krisis.  Itong panahon ng pandemya ay naging panahon ng kabayahihan at kabanalan.  Pope Francis said that during this pandemic, we have seen heroes and saints next door.  Nawa’y ang misyon ninyo bilang mga PPCRV volunteers ay maging misyon ng kabanalan at kabayanihan,” he added.

The series of masses conducted at the PPCRV Command Center was core to the Prayer Power Campaign 2022 which started in September 2021 until May 9, 2022. The campaign aims to pray for a peaceful election and to seek guidance from the Lord in choosing the next leaders in the country.
