Taytay Palawan Bishop Broderick Pabillo calls on the faithful to imitate Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
In his message to Radyo Veritas, Bishop Pabillo said that St. Teresa reminds us of the work of Jesus particularly that of caring for and loving the poor.
“She reminds us of the call of the Lord Jesus to care and live him by caring and loving the poor. Let us pray to St Mother Teresa to inspire us with her live for the poor,” according to his message.
The Bishop also reminds the faithful of Saint Mother Teresa’s exceptional care for the most needy in different parts of the world.
“St. Mother Teresa is known all over the world for her charity to the poorest of the poor by giving herself totally to them in caring for them, making them feel that God loves them. It is therefore very appropriate that her feast on Sept 5 is the Internally Day for Charity,” the Bishop said.
Mother Teresa was beatified in 2003 and canonized in 2016. In 1950, Saint Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity which has more than 4,000 nuns working all over the world. While she was still alive, the Saint was already being called “the living saint” because her exceptional charity works for the sick in poor countries. (Fatima Llanza/RCAM-AOC)
