Be Christian even when voting – – Bishop Bacani

Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches Teodoro Bacani, Jr. has reminded the faithful to take into consideration the welfare of fellow Filipino in everything they do especially when voting for the leaders of the country this coming election in 2022.

“Kung mahal natin ang ating kapwa tao, turo ng ating pananampalataya gawin mo ang makakatulong sa kaniya, hindi lang sa ilang gawain kundi pati sa pulitika. Hindi lang yung nagdarasal kundi kahit pag bumoboto ka gawin mo ang makatutulong sa kapwa mo,” Bishop Bacani told Radio Veritas.

As Catholic faithful, Bishop Bacani also stressed that faith and politics go hand in hand. He then encouraged the Filipino voters as well as the officials who are running for a government office to focus on their goal of true service to the country.

“Sa lahat ng bagay kailanman, saan man e, kinakailangan Kristiyano pa rin tayo,” said the Bishop.

The statement of Bishop Bacani is part of the One Godly Vote campaign of the Social Communications Ministry of the Archdiocese of Manila which was launched virtually last August 31, 2021. The initiative is part of the voter’s education that the Church is preparing to guide and encourage faithful to use their right to vote wisely.

The Social Communications Ministry of the archdiocese is composed of TV Maria, Radio Veritas, and Archdiocesan Office of Communications (AOC), which coordinates with the different Social Communications Ministries in the parishes.
