Archdiocese of Manila holds Second Collection for victims of Super Typhoon Odette

In a circular letter signed by Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, all the parishes were instructed to hold second collection that will be gathered and allocated to help the victims of the recent super typhoon Odette.

“As we pray for the victims of Typhoon Odette hitting several Arch/Dioceses of the Visayas and Mindanao, we will also help in the alleviation of their pains. We will have second collection during all Masses of the Fourth Sunday of Advent from the evening of Saturday, (December 18, 2021) and whole day of Sunday (December 19, 2021).”

The Cardinal also encouraged the faithful that apart from financial assistance, they should join together in prayer offered for those badly affected by the calamity.

“I assure of my paternal blessings and solicitude in this season of waiting and expectation,” the Cardinal said in his letter.

On Monday, December 20, Radio Veritas and Caritas Manila will hold a telethon for the victims of Super Typhoon Odette. Caritas Manila has initially allocated 2.5 million pesos to various dioceses that were affected by Odette.

The telethon will be aired over Radio Veritas and Sky Cable channel 211 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Jheng Prado/RCAM-AOC)
