Six to be ordained for Archdiocese of Manila

Six deacons will be ordained to the priesthood in a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration and rites to be presided by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales on October 3, 2009 at 9 am at the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral.

The six are Reverends John Rany Pablo Geraldino, Russel Garcia Ocampo and Michael Borjal Villaflor of San Carlos Seminary; Richard Enrique Samper Garrido of Redemptoris Mater; Fernando Lawag Sabado, Jr. of Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Society; and Jaime Vidal Martinez Zuñiga of San Jose Seminary. All are for the Archdiocese of Manila.

The ordination takes on special significance as it occurs within the observance of the Year for Priests as declared by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

Thanksgiving Masses of the six have been scheduled in days following their ordination., in various parishes of the archdiocese.
