Forgiven and Free - A Festival of Mercy




The University on Campus of the Archdiocese of Manila, the Office for Promotions of the New Evangelization and Adamson University will hold an Intercampus Overnight Vigil for the young people and adults entitled “Forgiven and Free – A Festival of Mercy” on November 19 to 20, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m at the St. Therese Quadrangle, Adamson University, Manila.



The overnight vigil is in line with the closing celebration of the Extraordinary Jubilee on Mercy and post celebration of the 31st World Youth Day held in Krakow, Poland.

With the theme of the 31st WYD, “Blessed are the Merciful, for they shall obtain Mercy” (Mt. 5:7), the youth festival will be a celebration of gratitude, peace, grace, conversion and joy.

This youthful celebration of God’s loving mercy through the ages will be a highly inter-active and participative occasion that will make use of the different forms of arts to convey the message of faith and culture of mercy.

A video message of the Holy Father Pope Francis for the 31st World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland will also be shown during the vigil.

Among the festival’s activities are catechesis on faith and mercy, celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Spirituality of Taize. There will also be activities that will pay tribute to St. Joseph as the Father of Mercy, Mary as the Mother of Mercy, St. John Paul II as the Apostle of Mercy, St. Faustina as the Prophet of Mercy, and Pope Francis as the Pope of Mercy. 

The Youth for Christ Band, Gravity Set-Adamson, Tinik Teatro-Adamson,
FEU Quartet, Young Peace Makers on Campus Animators, CEU Folk Dance, CEU Manila Singers, CEU Dramatic Guild, MAPUA Cardinal Singers, Miss Debbie Ann Cabal and the Yu.P Peace Animators are among the performers.

The highlight of the festival is the Eucharistic Celebration to be led by Rev. Fr. Marcelo Manimtim, Campus Ministry President.
