CFAM Presents Modules on CBCP Pastoral Letter on RH Bill

The Catechetical Foundation of the Archdiocese of Manila (CFAM) held a seminar - discussion on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ Pastoral Letter, “Choosing Life, Rejecting the RH Bill,” on February 11, 2011 at the Nazarene Catholic School in Quiapo, Manila. Auxiliary Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo expounded on the Pastoral Letter. This was followed by the presentation by Msgr. Gerardo Santos of the three modules CFAM has produced on Life and the CBCP Pastoral Letter.

The three catechetical modules contain the following: Module 1: Wow Buhay! Life is Good; Module 2: A Child, a Gift or a Burden?; and Module 3: “Choosing Life, rejecting the RH Bill” Protect, Support and defend Life! They were developed in response to the call of the bishops’ as stated in their Pastoral Letter. CFAM aims to provide materials to the faithful that will lead and direct them to a deeper understanding of the sacredness of human life and how to respect and give importance to it.

These modules will help the Church to perform its duty to see to it that the hearts and minds of the faithful are properly guided according to the teachings of the Church that mankind is created in the image and likeness of God. The modules will tackle the importance of life and provide insights on responsible parenthood by educating the parents and the young people as well as the religious and those who are responsible in protecting life.

Msgr. Gerardo Santos is the head of the Commission for Catechetics and Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Manila and the Catechetical Foundation. For information on the modules, please get in touch with Precy Gabriel at 564-3712 to 13.
