Cardinal Tagle receives sixth Vatican appointment




Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle was appointed member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life of the Vatican. This is his membership in as many Vatican offices. The appointment was announced in the Vatican on March 29, 2014.



In June 2012 he was appointed member of the Sacred Congregation for Catholic Education. In 2013 he received two appointments: member of the Pontifical Council for the Family and member, Pontifical Council for Migrants and Itinerant People. In February this year he was appointed member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. He is also a member of the Permanent Council of the Synod of Bishops.

He has also been named by the Pope as the president-delegate of the 3rd Extraordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family in October.

In October 2012 he also served as member of the XIII General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the New Evangelization and as vice-president of the Commission for the Message of the same assembly.
