Museo San Agustin holds exhibit on liturgical vestmests

A special exhibit entitled, "Atuendo" was opened at the Museo San Agustin yesterday (14 February).

The special exhibit was opened by Fray Roy Gallano OSA, Prior of the Convento de San Agustin, Fray Ricky Villar OSA, Museum Director, Atty. Reggie Dimacuja, and Filipino fashion designers Glenn Lopez and Kim Vallado in a ceremony attended by guests and friends.

"Atuendo" highlights the Filipino design ingenuity, interpreting the 1700s Spanish influence and lifestyle manner of dressing to its transition in the 21st-century high fashion. The exhibition also features the centuries-old liturgical vestment collections of the Museo with reproductions interpreted by one of the leading embroiderers in ecclesiastical fashion.

Some of the works featured in the exhibit include the works of world-renowned Filipino fashion designers like Simoun Andres, Vince Sityar, Mars Silud, Roman Sebastian, Jontie Martinez, Dee Jay Abustan, Edgar San Diego, Glenn Lopez, Jehrick dela Roca, Cliff de Torres, Sony Boy Mindo, Edwin Uy, Sasa Abarentos, Ira Baylon, Kim Vallado, Armand Marco, Francis Calaquian, and Joemel Calma.

"Atuendo" runs until 15 April 2020 and is located on the second floor of the Museo. (Agustinos Vicariato de Oriente)
