Fr. Dialogo is set to replace Bp. Arturo M. Bastes, SVD as Sorsogon bishop. He will be the 5th bishop of the Diocese of Sorsogon, following Bishop Bastes.

The appointment of Fr. Dialogo was made after Pope Francis accepted the retirement of Bp. Bastes after reaching the age of 75. He has been the head of the Diocese of Sorsogon since April 2003.

Bishops are required to submit their resignation to the Pope when they turn 75.

Bishop-elect Fr Dialogo was born on July 10, 1962, at the Lagonoy, Camarines Norte, and was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Manila on July 31, 1996, at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral).

Fr. Dialogo holds a Licentiate in Spirituality from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

At the time of his appointment as a bishop, Fr. Dialogo has been serving since 2015 as director of the Cardinal Sin Welcome Home, the priests' retirement facility of the archdiocese. The house is located at Sampaloc Manila.

Part of his priestly ministry, he served as Parochial Vicar at the San Roque Parish in Mandaluyong in 1996; Vice-Rector at the EDSA Shrine in Ortigas in 20015; and Parish Priest at the St. John of the Cross Parish in Makati in 2018.

He also served as Dean of Seminarians and Rector at the Holy Apostles Senior Seminary in 1999 and 2003 respectively.

In 2008, he became a member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Manila. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
