The Segunda Mana flagship program focuses on education for the underprivileged youth under its Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program also known as YSLEP, the integrated youth development program of the Social Arm of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila Caritas Manila that develops the youth’s potential in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and trains them to become good servant leaders. YSLEP utilizes training and formation that emphasizes not just academic excellence, but leadership while cultivating moral integrity and social commitment to the poor.

Pre-loved items such as clothing, shoes, bags, toys, home, and fashion accessories, all donated and given by generous individuals, companies, and organizations are being offered at affordable prices as part of Charity Work. This is part of Caritas Manila’s mission to instill the value of giving as a way of life.

The mission of Caritas Manila is to instill the significance of giving as a way of life. Through its pro-poor platforms and determinations, they help sustain and uphold the organization’s mission to cultivate and enable the disadvantaged and the vulnerable.

According to Bishop De Leon, purchasing commodities from Segunda Mana greatly helps since it funds the programs of Caritas Manila. “Ang Segunda Mana ay isang paraan ng pagtulong kasi ang mapagbibilhan dito ay gagamitin sa ibat ibang services nila katulad ng scholarship program, katulad nang pag mayroong disaster at maging sa mga pabahay," the Bishop said.

Caritas Manila Executive Director and Radio Veritas846 President Fr. Anton CT Pascual also believes in the importance of using proper education to develop the state of life of Filipinos especially those in rural areas of the country. “Naniniwala tayo na ang edukasyon is the great social equalizer kung gusto nating kalabanin ang kahirapan, kamangmangan at kawalan ang susi d’yan ay edukasyon na binubuo ng knowledge, skills and attitude,” explained by Fr. Anton.

Caritas Manila is inviting all the faithful to be part of The Segunda Mana EXPO which was held starting from September 2 until 15, 2019 from 11:00 am at the Vista Mall Antipolo in Rizal.
