Archdiocese of Manila to observe Season of Creation from Sept. 1 to Oct. 6

The Archdiocese of Manila will celebrate the 7th year of the Season of Creation starting September 1, 2019 to October 6, 2019.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Go and Repair my house as you can see lies in ruins”.

The month-long celebration will be marked with the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Nino de Tondo, on September 1, 2019, at 8 a.m. to be presided by Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo.

There will be workshops on various solutions to Climate emergency and plastic population at the Shrine’s patio from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These free workshops are Ecobrick and other plastic recycling technologies, Urban Organic/natural gardening with free vegetable seeds and seedlings, Solar Lamp Assembling and off-grid installations.

Those who are interested to join are asked to bring a clean and dry (all sizes) used/empty plastic wrappers, bags, boxes, straws, and styro products for exchange and participate in kinds of workshops in different parishes.

There will also be an exhibit of Eco-Friendly household supplies.

Prayers for Creation and Laudato Si Reflections will be recited before each Mass on Saturday evenings and Sundays of September in different parishes of the Archdiocese of Manila.

The Season of Creation started in 2013 as a response to the call of the Holy Father Pope Francis to all the people in the world to collaborate with each other in caring and saving our planet. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
