Cardinal to Youth--Develop Gifts, Exchange gifts

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle had his regular dialogue with the Youth of the Archdiocese of Manila at the Usapang Totoo at Katoto last August 17, 2019, at the Nazarene Catholic School in Quiapo.

In the encounter with the youth, the Cardinal listened to stories of the three young people who at an early age experienced pain and suffering. They were:  Irish Callao, member of the Parish Youth Ministry at San Jose de Trozo Parish; Alisah Nina Banaobra, finalist at the Voice Philippines and Top 11 at X-Factor UK; and Van Jover Telebrico, member of Parish Youth Ministry at Santa Cruz Parish.

Cardinal Tagle thanked the three young guests who shared their experience to other youth. He then gave advice to the youth to appreciate whatever blessings they receive from God.

He also encouraged them to build instead of destroying each other.

“Sa halip na hatak, i-build up. Recognize your gifts, i-develop ninyo, at yung gift ng iba i-develop din ninyo, sa halip na magkalaban naghihilahan, celebrate the gifts, mag exchange gift kayo,” Cardinal Tagle said.

Usapang Totoo at Katoto is an encounter of young people that aims to voice out their concerns, anxieties, doubts and fears as well as their hopes, joys, and dreams.

UTAK is regularly organized by the Archdiocesan Commission on Youth. This month’s UTAK was in coordination with the Vicariate of San Jose de Trozo Parish Youth Ministry. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
