Mayor Moreno, fondly called by Manilenos as "Yorme", was the special guest in the regular dialogue of the youth with the Archbishop. The Mayor gave an inspirational message to the young people challenging them to do their part as he and the city government of Manila do their responsibilities in taking care of the Manilenos.

Mayor Moreno, who was also an actor, shared his struggles during the early stage of his childhood. He narrated how he strove hard to in order to survive. Because of extreme poverty, he rummaged for foods from the garbage. He experienced also eating the eraser of a pencil during recess because he had no money to buy food. He believes that his stories can be a source of inspiration of the young people.

Naging Vice Mayor, ngayon Mayor. Maniniwala ba kayo na merong isang basurero--ito mas impossible ha--may isang basurero, pwede palang maging estudyante sa Harvard,” Mayor Moreno said.

At the end of his message, he encouraged the young people to do their part by studying hard and become a proud citizen of Manila. He as well urged them to always keep their faith in the Lord whatever difficulties they will encounter in life.

(Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
