Promoting Catholic faith through digital makeover

In its aim to produce a video that will highlight the Filipino Catholic faith, the 5th National Catholic Media Convention held a video making contest called “Project Church: Digital Makeover”.

Aimed at producing a simple yet modern digital media that is potentially viral, the contest featured and promoted Filipino Catholic Faith with themes such as faith and politics, adoration, Pro-life, the Church, family, devotions, and challenges.

The National Capital Region group was proclaimed the winner of the video-making contest during the 5th National Catholic Media Convention held at the Shercon Ecology Park and Resort in Batangas, last August 6-9, 2019.

#Feelings (kung mahal mo, iparamdam mo) is the official entry of the NCR group to the media convention. It is a two-minute video that rebrands the way the Filipino faith is presented in the community especially to the millennial generation.

According to Fr. Luciano Felloni who spoke in the video, Filipinos have devotions to different saints and visit various shrines to express their love for the Lord.

The NCR group is composed of the delegates from the different dioceses in Metro Manila as well as a congregation and a religious foundation: Diocese of Cubao, Diocese of Novaliches, Diocese of Imus, Diocese of Pasig, and Archdiocese of Manila including the St. Paul’s Media and Communications Foundation for Asia.

The 5th National Catholic Media Convention was organized by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Social Communications (CBCP-ECSC) headed by Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara. It was hosted by the Archdiocese of Lipa. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
