On Thursday, July 18, “A Day of Encounter with Clergy and Consecrated Persons” was held at the same venue attended by more than 90 members of the Manila Clergy while 31 international delegates (Los Angeles-10), Vietnam (5), Malaysia (5), Brunei Darussalam (4), Kuala Lumpur (3), Indonesia (3), and Taiwan (1) attended the said event.

In his message for the young people, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle saw the need to discover how Jesus walks, his various “styles” of walking with people.

“This call becomes more urgent as we bring to the youth the Good News that Jesus is alive, He is their friend, He walks with them wherever they go, and He will never leave them alone,” Cardinal Tagle said.

PCNE was introduced in 2013 by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle as a response to the call of new evangelization.

This year’s PCNE carries the theme “Filipino Youth Walking with Jesus” in celebration of the Year of the Youth as declared by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines as part of the preparation for the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
