God’s love is always present

“Ang memory ni God ay palaging present. At ganito ang pag-ibig niya, palaging present".

Bishop Rex Alarcon of the Diocese of Daet speaks of the cross as the real symbol of the love of God for mankind during his homily for the Misa ng Bayang Pilipino on July 19, at the Quadricentennial Pavilion, University of Santo Tomas.

This is what the newly ordained Bishop of Daet Rex Alarcon told the participants of the 6th Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE 6) during the Misa ng Bayang Pilipino held at the Quadricentennial Pavilion of the University of Santo Tomas, on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 8 a.m.

In his homily, Bishop Alarcon expounded on how unconditional, endless, and truthful God’s love is for mankind especially for the young people.

Apart from his reflection that God’s love is always present, Bishop Alarcon also pointed out that the most important symbol of love is not the heart but the cross.

“I thought the symbol of love is a heart, now I realized, it is more of the cross.

Bishop Alarcon was appointed by Pope Francis as the Chairman of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Commission on Youth at the recent CBCP Plenary Assembly held last July 6-8, 2019, in Tagaytay City.
