Be Missionaries of Christ


Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle led the Baccalaureate Mass of the Lyceum of the Philippines University of Manila held at Manila Cathedral, on July 11, 2019.

In his homily, he challenged the students to become missionaries of Christ after they graduated from college.

“The gift of tertiary education is for a mission. Ang edukasyon hindi lamang para kumita ng limpak-limpak at kahit na ano pa ang gawin para lang kumita, hindi. Ang edukasyon ay para sa misyon at naniniwala tayo na bawat isa sa inyo ay apostol ni Hesus na isinusugo niya,” Cardinal Tagle said.

Cardinal Tagle also pointed out to the students that the significance of discovering the meaning of life is by becoming a missionary. He hoped that through education, the students will be molded into dedicated servants of the Lord.

“Ang kahulugan ng buhay ay ang pinag-aalayan. Ang buhay, binigay sa atin para ialay, kapag wala kang makabuluhang pinag-aalayan ng buhay, patay ka na. And we hope that your education and formation have prepared you to know yourself better and see yourself where God put you.”  Cardinal Tagle said. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC and Radio Veritas)
