Cardinal Tagle: Keep Church Events clean and free of Trash

To care for the environment is to give importance to God’s creation.

This is the message Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle imparted to the faithful who attended the Mass for the feast of Corpus Christi at the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament (Sta. Cruz Parish), on June 23, 2019.

Ang regalo pinahahalagahan,” Cardinal Tagle said.

He also expressed his disappointment every time the Church celebrates big occasions where people leave tons of trash.

Cardinal Tagle also pointed out the practice of false virtue of the faithful who actively serve in the church.

Before he ended his homily, he once again reminded the faithful that God’s love is felt in the Eucharist because of the presence of Christ.

“Through our sharing hopefully, the presence of Jesus, will be more felt, seen, and experienced, by people who go through dark nights of betrayal and indifference,” Cardinal Tagle said.

After the celebration of the Holy Mass, a procession with the Blessed Sacrament was held from Sta. Cruz to the Manila Cathedral.

Corpus Christi is the day when the church celebrates and affirms the presence of Christ as Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine on a special day in the whole liturgical year. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
