Pope Francis appoints Fr. Roberto Gaa as bishop of Novaliches

His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Rev. Fr. Roberto Gaa of the Archdiocese of Manila as the new bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches.

The appointment was made after Bishop Antonio Tobias resigned from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Novaliches.

Fr. Gaa was born in Manila in 1962. He was ordained priest in 2000 for the Archdiocese of Manila.

Upon his appointment, he has been serving as rector of Holy Apostles Senior Seminary (HASS) Guadalupe, Makati City.

Fr. Gaa has served in a number of pastoral roles including parish vicar, parish priest, and spiritual director of the dean of studies at the HASS. 

In 2008, he became rector of the HASS and member of the presbyteral council of the archdiocese. (Jheng M. Prado/RCAM-AOC)
