First Inter-Church Institution Olympics held in Amoranto Sports Complex

A high spirited vibe surrounded Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City where the first Inter-Church Institution Olympics was held.

The whole-day Olympics was held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 with the aim to develop unity, cooperation, sportsmanship and fellowship among members of the church institutions as well as to enhance their skills and talents in sports.

The program started at 7 am with the parade of athletes, muse and members of the committee.

The four participating teams namely: Radio Veritas, Caritas Manila, Caritas Et Labora Human Resource Service Cooperative and Team United (EWTN, TV Maria, RCAM-AOC, and Caritas Salve Credit Cooperative) were excited to compete with each other in various games like basketball, mixed volleyball, tug of war and relay games.

The opening prayer was led by Mr. Tony Zafra of the Human Resource department of Caritas Manila. 

Executive director of Caritas Manila, vice-chairman of Caritas et Labora Human Resource Cooperative, member of the Board of Directors of Caritas Salve, and president of Radio Veritas Global Broadcasting System, Inc, Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual formally opened the sportsfest with his welcome remarks.

The event ended with the awarding ceremony. Caritas Manila emerged as the overall Champion (first place) while Team United bagged the second place award. Caritas et Labora and Radio Veritas were third and fourth place respectively.

Jenecis Flores of Caritas Manila and Reymart Duhaylungsod of Team United were hailed Most Valuable Players of Basketball and Volleyball.

The event was organized by Radio Veritas, the number one faith-based AM radio in the Philippines.
