Cardinal Tagle invites media to join PCNE4 workshops

Playing a significant role in the strengthening of Catholic faith, Cardinal Tagle invited the media to be delegates of Fourth Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE4).

In a press conference on the upcoming PCNE4 held at the Arzobispado de Manila on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle invited the media to join and participate in the different workshops on New Media and Evangelization.

“Iniimbitahan namin kayo na baka pwedeng may mga delegates to the PCNE from the world of the media and doon sa mga workshops on media, not only for you to learn but also to contribute.”

Putting emphasis on the workshops on New Media and Evangelization, Cardinal Tagle cited the three different topics to be discussed during the session, namely: Does the Digital World Have a Soul? (Day 1), Good News Sells: It’ Free. It’s True. (Day 2), and New Media and Evangelization: Expanding the Horizons of Hope (Day 3).

During these times when fake news are all over the internet, Cardinal Tagle believes that Catholics prefer to view life positively and believe in the “good news”.

“Kasi lage nilang sinasabi na parang ang sellable lang daw na news ay negative, sensational pero ito inaanuhan na, that good news sells and kailangan ito ng mundo, good news.”

New Media and Evangelization is one of the ten tracks during the concurrent sessions that PCNE4 delegates may join. Other tracks include: Catechist, Ecology/Environment, family, Interreligious/Intercultural/Ecumenical, New Movements, Parish/BEC, School, Social Justice, and Youth.

PCNE4 will happen from July 28-30, 2017 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion of the University of Santo Tomas in España with the theme “Of One Heart and Soul.”
