RE: WORLD MISSION SUNDAY (OCTOBER 19, 2008)


Dear Rev. Monsignor/Father:


Greetings of peace in the Lord!


This is to remind Your Reverence of the World Mission Sunday on October 19, 2008. It is an “important day in the life of the Church because it teaches how to give as an offering made to God, in the Eucharistic celebration and for al the missions of the world” (Redemptoris mission 81).


May we remind Your Reverence of the special collection intended for this purpose to be submitted to the accounting department of the Arzobispado de Manila on or before November 19, 2008.  “The offerings that will be collected (on World Mission Sunday) are destined for a common fund of solidarity  distributed, in the Pope’s name, by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith among the missions and missionaries of the entire world,” says the World Mission Sunday Catechetical Notes.


Let us continue to pray and offer sacrifices to our missionaries.
