RE: NATIONAL CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF THE CONVERSION OF ST. PAUL ON JANUARY 25, 2009


Dear Monsignori/Fathers/Sisters/Brothers:


Greetings of peace this new year!


Please find attached the poster for the National Celebration of the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul on January 25, 2009.  Since it is the Pauline Year, this celebration is very significant.  We request that you send representatives from your parishes and communities during this event.


May we also remind you of the special degree from the Congregation of Divine Worship issued last January 25, 2008, granting, in an extraordinary way, that “January 25, 2009, the Third Sunday ‘per annum’, the singular churches can celebrate a Mass according to the formula Conversion of St. Paul, Apostle, as found in the Roman Missal.  In this case, the Second reading of the Mass is taken from the Roman Lectionary for the Third Sunday ‘per annum’, and the Creed is recited.”


May the coming year be truly a time of grace and joy for us and the people we serve.
