Greetings of Peace!


The Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas uner the CBCP – Episcopal Commission on the Laity (ECLA) headed by His Excellency Most Rev. Gabriel V. Reyes, D.D. is spearheading the National laity Week on September 27 to October 3, 2009.  This celebration is geared towards promoting lay apostolate and to honor San Lorenzo Ruiz and Blessed Pedro Calungsod, the Patron Saints of the catholic Laity in the Philippines.


The organizing committee of this year’s celebration headed by Edgardo J. Tria Tirona has adopted the theme: “The Laity: Changing Self and Society with Jesus and Mary.”


Herewith is a brochure which contains some suggested activities for this celebration and a poster that brings about synthesis of all the calls made through the years.


We hope as much as pray that the lay may be given due recognition in their noble role in the Church.
